Installation. 10pm–1. Live music. For Art Night Jake and Dinos Chapman present a brand new piece, The Misshapeness of Thingsto Come, in a listed warehouse at London Dock. Employing free associative writing techniques,the Chapman Brothers have been building poems through a cumulation of inserted ideas,in response to the lines of one another. This new commission centres on a previously unpublishedepic poem which manifests as a film, juxtaposing the spoken verse with flashing imagery corresponding to the words.

The effect is a fast- paced visual representation of the poem, intendedto overwhelm. Jake Chapman and his band Funhole will perform a special live performanceon the night, with an audience of eyeless mannequins dressed in the clothes of the dead,eyeballs in their hands, ever present and watching. Dennis Severs’ House. Folgate St, London E1 6. BX6pm–1. 2am. Alongside their new video installation at London Dock, Jake and Dinos Chapman have subtly intervened with the period artworks at Dennis Severs’ House. The location is specifically selected to comply with the timeless nature of the Chapman’s body of practice. Decorated from head to toe in an eclectic style that spans over three centuries, the interior is charged with traces of active living in the house, unfolding the narrative of a resident Huguenot family and their ways of being during their temporary absence.

A selection of works, spanning the last decade of Chapman’s prolific production, is inserted into the curious furnishings of the house. These works hang in place of some of the original oil paintings adding a twisted, sinister feeling to the ornate decor. A project kindly hosted by Dennis Severs’ House.
